NDIS FUNDING GUIDE · 2026–27
Group activities are disability supports delivered to multiple participants at once, where the staff member's supported time must be allocated according to the group pricing rule.
NDIS Pricing Schedule 2026–27, Appendix 1, Table 1, effective 24 September 2026. Maximum amounts in AUD and subject to change.
Genuine shared group-based support with documented worker numbers, activity, support ratio, participant attendance and duration. Use the correct code for the actual support activity, shift type and place of service; the national amount is not the same as the remote or very remote price.
What does this support mean?
Group activities are disability supports delivered to multiple participants at once, where the staff member's supported time must be allocated according to the group pricing rule.
When appropriate: Genuine shared group-based support with documented worker numbers, activity, support ratio, participant attendance and duration.
Worker rates are based on the schedule's disability support worker Level 1 model, but individual worker competence and the participant's requirements matter. More complex clinical or behavioural supports may require a separately defined classification and additional safeguards.

When this code must not be used
Do not charge every participant the full cost of the same shared worker hour. A participant attending a venue with other people is not necessarily receiving group support.
Practical example
One worker delivers an eligible weekday daytime activity to two participants. The listed national hourly worker maximum is $73.58; where the relevant group rule applies, the amount is divided by the group size—$36.79 for each participant for that shared hour.
Record the participant's goal, the worker's tasks, the actual service time, place of delivery, any shared staffing arrangement and why the selected support item fits.
Provider travel, additional costs and cancellations
Worker travel to a participant, vehicle running costs and driving the participant during a support are different. Whether any separate charge is allowable depends on the support catalogue and currently applicable claiming rules. The September 2026 schedule does not alone establish every non-labour travel or cancellation condition. Explain travel and cancellation terms in the service agreement before seeking payment.
Common questions
Can I choose the higher-priced item for a complex participant?
No. The code must match the actual service definition, worker skills and relevant plan conditions. Complexity alone does not justify another item.
What if one uninterrupted shift spans time bands?
Part 1 of the schedule applies the higher applicable amount to a continuous support crossing different time/day price bands when one worker delivers it, subject to the specific support and definitions.
