NDIS Funding Guide · 2026–27
The 2026–27 price schedule specifically reclassifies named isolated Australian towns for NDIS pricing. This article reproduces every entry in Tables 58 and 59, including the locations within each postcode.
Verified against the attached NDIS Pricing Schedule, effective 24 September 2026 • Part 3, Tables 58–59, pages 89–90 • Reviewed 20 October 2026.
The short answer
Being outside a capital city does not automatically make a support ‘remote’ for pricing. Check the exact Modified Monash classification of the place where support occurs, then check whether the isolated-town exception changes the category. The schedule lists 25 remote rows and one very remote row.
How does the Modified Monash Model affect the price?
Part 1 states that the physical service delivery location determines the relevant price column, not just the participant's usual address. Generally, MM1–5 receives national maximum amounts, MM6 the remote column and MM7 the very remote column. Certain isolated locations, however, are expressly deemed remote or very remote even where their ordinary MMM classification might differ.
If a support item does not list remote or very remote prices, do not invent a geographic loading. Some services such as the plan management monthly fee carry identical prices in every geographical column.

The entries below reproduce the postcodes, enclave labels and listed location names from Table 58. The long lists matter: a postcode alone may include locations not covered by the named exception. Verify the exact place and service date before billing.

| State | Postcode | NDIA enclave | Location | Pricing category |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| NT | 0822 | Gunbalanya | Gunbalanya | Very remote (MM7) |
This is the single entry in Table 59 of the attached Pricing Schedule. It does not reclassify every place in NT postcode 0822; the named location must match.
Worked examples: correct and incorrect geography
Example: a support worker provides standard weekday daytime self-care in Emerald, QLD 4720. Emerald is specifically listed in Table 58 as remote for this schedule. The standard national price for code 01_011_0107_1_1 is $73.58/hour, but the remote maximum is $103.01/hour. Two eligible hours at the maximum would be $206.02, not $147.16.
Example: a worker delivers the same eligible service in Gunbalanya, NT 0822. The schedule reclassifies Gunbalanya as very remote, so the relevant code's very remote maximum is $110.37/hour, rather than the national or remote maximum. Two hours at that maximum would be $220.74. Do not assume every locality sharing postcode 0822 automatically receives this special classification.
Example: telehealth or cross-border services. The 2026 schedule ties geography to where support is delivered. If the participant and provider are in different places, check how the current pricing determination applies to that actual mode and location instead of applying the higher amount solely because one party has a remote residential address.
Frequently asked questions
Does a remote postcode make every nearby suburb remote?
No. Table 58 identifies specific named locations, some with precise enclave labels. Verify the actual service site.
Can a provider use the participant's normal home postcode even if the support occurs elsewhere?
No. Part 1 says the physical location where service takes place determines the geographical amount, regardless of the participant's usual home address.
Do all services receive a remote price loading?
No. If a support's row has no remote or very remote amount, or the price is identical, a different remote amount should not be created.
