The short answer
Consider the appropriate centre capital item only where the primary care or activity service is delivered in a centre and the underlying support fits the permitted item family. The hourly unit and relevant geography apply.
What does this support actually cover?
Centre capital cost items contribute to the running and maintenance costs of a facility where the primary support is actually delivered. They are an additional eligible component of specified centre-based supports, not a general administration fee for all providers.
Start with the activity or professional service the participant received, not the funding amount remaining in the plan. For each invoice, identify the specific aim of the support, where it took place, what the worker actually did and the appropriate item family. The schedule sets the maximum prices; it does not give blanket approval for every participant to purchase every listed service.
When can this item be used—and when can't it?
Situations it is intended for
Consider the appropriate centre capital item only where the primary care or activity service is delivered in a centre and the underlying support fits the permitted item family. The hourly unit and relevant geography apply.
Situations that require a different approach
Do not add a centre capital cost merely because the provider rents an office, meets a participant in a café, works in a participant's home, or delivers only remote sessions. Do not charge more than one full centre cost per eligible support hour without a valid allocation basis.
Who is allowed to deliver this support?
The provider operating the facility and delivering the qualifying primary service must meet the underlying support's requirements. The schedule does not impose a separate professional registration category for an ordinary centre capital cost fee.
Worker qualifications, NDIS provider registration and permission to claim a particular item are related but different questions. Where a professional registration or a defined higher-intensity standard applies, verify the actual person delivering the work meets it. Employer classifications used to build a price limit do not replace professional practice rules.
All 4 support codes and 2026–27 maximum prices
The tables below reproduce the codes, billing units and national, remote and very remote maximum amounts for this pricing-table group from the supplied official schedule. Individual support item names distinguish service setting, worker level, activity and/or time of delivery. On narrow screens, each pricing row is displayed as a labelled card.

Travel, time-of-day, cancellation and extra costs
Travel time, vehicle running costs, parking and tolls are separate concepts. Not every item has a matching separate provider-travel code in this schedule. A provider should discuss potentially claimable travel in advance and check the current support catalogue, claim type and relevant NDIA guidance before invoicing it. The September 2026 schedule does not itself specify all non-labour travel codes and conditions.
Cancellation charges are not automatic. Check the service agreement and the currently applicable cancellation rules before claiming a cancelled session. Similarly, an extra charge cannot be inferred merely from a blank or differently worded line elsewhere in the schedule.
National rates generally apply in MM 1–5 locations; remote in MM 6; very remote in MM 7, taking account of the isolated-town modifications listed in Part 3. The service's physical location determines the applicable column. Some items may have no geographic loading.
A real-world example
A participant attends a qualifying group activity for two hours in a centre operated by the service provider. If the underlying support item permits it, the facility cost may be calculated separately at its relevant hourly maximum.
Price calculation example: the national maximum for Centre Capital Cost is $2.71 per hour. For a genuinely delivered 90-minute service, the pro-rata mathematical maximum is $4.06 before any other claim limits or separate eligible charges are considered. That is an illustration of the unit calculation, not a recommendation to book or claim a particular duration.
What documentation should be available?
Keep evidence of the qualifying centre-based session, centre operation, number of participants, and matching primary support code.
Common questions
Does the highest listed price have to be charged?
No. The column shows a maximum payable for plan-managed and NDIA-managed supports, not a fixed fee. A lower rate can be agreed, and a participant's plan still needs to permit the support.
Can a different item with the same price be used instead?
No. Matching prices do not mean matching eligibility. The code must accurately identify what was delivered, the funding context, and any day, setting, profession or complexity requirements.
When should I ask for more evidence?
Ask whenever the claim includes a special qualification, higher intensity, non-standard time, remote loading, overnight support or an additional charge. An itemised invoice and clear service record make it easier to understand the basis of the charge.

_PT, _NF, _CA, _RR or _TH item is different from the generic Yes/No flag shown against another code. Travel minutes, participant agreement, non-labour expenses and cancellation notice must still meet the applicable current rules.Show the 4 codes and their exact claim flags
