Support coordination helps participants understand and organise funded and mainstream supports, connect services and develop their ability to manage their supports. The schedule separates Support Connection (Level 1), Coordination of Supports (Level 2), Specialist Support Coordination (Level 3), employment coordination and Individualised Living Options exploration/design.

Based on the NDIS Pricing Schedule 2026–27, effective 24 September 2026, Table 56, page 87. Reviewed 20 October 2026. All prices are maximum amounts in AUD and subject to change.

The short answer

Use Level 1 for the basic connection activities described in its item, Level 2 for broader coordination, and Level 3 only where the participant's needs and authorised funding call for specialist coordination. Use ILO exploration/design or employment-specific codes for those actual functions.

What is this NDIS support?

Support coordination helps participants understand and organise funded and mainstream supports, connect services and develop their ability to manage their supports. The schedule separates Support Connection (Level 1), Coordination of Supports (Level 2), Specialist Support Coordination (Level 3), employment coordination and Individualised Living Options exploration/design.

Support coordinators should help the participant exercise choice and control, not tie them to a single provider. Notes should show actions taken, obstacles addressed, consent and progress toward a plan that the participant can use effectively. Specialist levels must reflect the agreed level of support and complexity.

When is it appropriate to use this support?

Use Level 1 for the basic connection activities described in its item, Level 2 for broader coordination, and Level 3 only where the participant's needs and authorised funding call for specialist coordination. Use ILO exploration/design or employment-specific codes for those actual functions.

When it is not appropriate

Do not bill a Level 3 specialist coordination rate for ordinary Level 2 administration just because the participant's situation is difficult. Support coordination is not the same as plan management, direct disability support or clinical mental health treatment.

Remember: a support appearing in the NDIS schedule does not automatically mean an individual participant's plan funds it. Confirm disability-related purpose, applicable budget, funding restrictions and what actually took place.

Who can deliver it?

The schedule does not give a single qualification rule across all coordination tiers; providers must demonstrate suitable skills, experience and the registration or professional competencies appropriate to the role and participant's needs.

Confirm the practitioner's actual registration, accreditation, membership or experience requirements for the service, not just the provider's business name. They must be capable of delivering the work safely and within any applicable NDIS practice standards.

Every listed 2026–27 code and maximum price

5 support code entries are listed in Table 56. The national, remote and very remote amounts apply according to the location of the support. The support item unit shown in the table matters. Fractional hourly fees follow the actual time spent on eligible support; do not charge for a full hour where only a shorter service was supplied.

Travel, indirect time, telehealth and cancellation

The funding schedule does not display a stand-alone 2026–27 provider travel time suffix for these coordination items. Do not automatically apply an allied health travel code or separately claim vehicle expenses without authority from the applicable support catalogue and guidance.

The attached September 2026 pricing schedule does not contain every non-labour travel code or all the detailed conditions for adding kilometres, tolls, parking or other charges. Providers and participants should consult the official current NDIS support catalogue and published claiming guidance rather than assuming the rate used in a previous year remains valid.

The NDIS has separate national, remote and very remote maximums where listed. Geography is based on where the support is delivered, accounting for the schedule's isolated-town modification. The 2026–27 schedule's maximums already include any GST.

Practical example

A Level 2 support coordinator maps a participant's funded supports, helps compare suitable providers, resolves service gaps and strengthens the participant's ability to coordinate independently.

The provider's records should explain the activity, the plan-related objective, who delivered it, the time and location and the item used. Where a separate indirect activity or travel charge is proposed, the participant should understand and agree to the relevant arrangement in advance.

Common questions

Can a provider charge more than the 2026–27 maximum?

No, not for the listed NDIA-managed or plan-managed support item; the applicable maximum is a price cap. Providers can negotiate a lower fee. Self-management has separate pricing implications that participants should check with current NDIS guidance.

Is a diagnosis enough to select this support?

No. The disability-related functional need, plan funding, appropriateness of the professional intervention and actual work provided all matter.

How do I confirm the right code?

Match the entire support item name, number, support category and billing unit to the work delivered and use the official support catalogue to verify claim types and any special conditions.

2026–27 claiming flags for the 5 listed codes

Checked against the official NDIS Support Catalogue. These are item-specific flags, not authorisations to claim.

How to use this table: Yes means this code has a catalogue claim-type flag; No means it is not marked for that generic claim type; N/A means not applicable. A separately listed _PT (provider travel), _NF (non-face-to-face), _CA (cancellation), _RR (report) or _TH (telehealth) item is not cancelled by a No against a different item. Check the applicable rules, participant agreement, notice periods, travel limits and actual service before billing.
